Gonggar Mountain is the highest snow-capped peak of the Hengduan Mountains on the eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It towers into the sky from the bank of the Dadu River in Luding County of the Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. At 7,556 m above sea level, Gonggar is the 11th highest peak in the world. its vicinity there are 28 snow-capped peaks that stand more than 6,000 m above sea level. Colossal glaciers, picturesque lakes, intact vegetation and natural hot springs have all contributed to its incredible beauty.
