Located about 15 km to the southeast of Atengxilian Town in Ikinholo Banner, Genghis Khan Mausoleum was founded in 1956.

The mausoleum consists of three co-adjacent mausoleum palaces. The top of the 26-m-high main hall is decorated with yellow-white glazed tile with the yurt peak dotting the white wall like a Mongolian yurt. A 5-m-high sitting statue of Genghis Khan stands in the middle of the mausoleum. The coffins of Genghis Khan and his three wives are in the middle of the hall, those of Genghis Khan’s two brothers in the west and the east of the bedchamber. The coffin of Genghis Khan's fourth son Tolui (father of Kublai Khan) and that of Kublai Khan’s wife are in the eastern hall. The western hall enshrines nine banners, which used to be the symbols of nine generals. The east and west corridors of the main hall are decorated with large frescos. There are two huge wooden wheels outside the hall, and they are said to be used for a cart to carry Genghis Khan’s coffin hundreds of years ago.
