Ge Fei and Gu Jun (葛菲和顾俊), who had been pairing up to play doubles for over ten years and who had won gold medals many times in world competitions, teamed up again to win the doubles final in two straight sets with the same score of 15:5 at the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996, thus becoming the first Chinese Olympic badminton champions.
