Fan Shoukang (also known as Yun Zang), was born in 1895 in Shangyu City, Zhejiang Province. He graduated from Literature Department of Japanese Imperial University of Tokyo with a Master Degree of Education and Philosophy. He worked as editor in the Commercial Press, professor and secretary general of Sun Yat-Sen University, Dean of Literature Department of Anhui University and Dean of Philosophy of Wuhan University. He moved to Taiwan after the Anti-Japanese War (1937-1945) and held the posts of curator of Taiwan Library and professor of Taiwan University. He settled in Beijing in April, 1982. His publications include Outline of Education Philosophy, Introduction to Education, General Chinese Philosophy History and Zuzi and His Philosophical Thoughts.
