On September 22, 1937, the Kuomintang Center Press issued the Declaration of the CPC Central Committee on Publishing the Cooperation Between the Communist Party and the Kuomintang. The declaration, delivered by CPC delegates Zhou Enlai, Qin Bangxian and Lin Boqu to Kuomintang delegates Chiang Kai-shek, Zhang Chong and Shao Lizi during negotiations, launched the nation's Japanese resistance campaign. The next day, Chiang Kai-shek gave a talk in which he acknowledged the legal status of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and cooperation between the two parties in resisting the Japanese aggressors, leading to the official formation of the Anti-Japanese National United Front.
