China Population Association

With the approval from Ministry of Civil Affairs, China Population Association was established on February 27, 1981. It is a state level non-governmental academic organization studying population science and has about 200 members. Numerous renowned experts such as Ma Yinchu, Xu Dixin, Song Jian, Hu Huanyong, Liu Zheng and Jiang Zhenghua once worked as its leaders or consultants.

It owns 11 professional committees covering all major fields of population science. They are: Population and Economy, Population and Society, Population Statistics, Population Quality, Population Migration, Population Policy, Population Ecology, Ethnic Group Population, Population and Market, Females, Periodicals about Population.

The association and committees devote themselves to developing China's population science. It organizes and promotes various communications between population research organizations and other fields by social investigations, academic seminars, publications and awarding academic achievements.
