Chen Jingkai, a pioneer in sports in China, was a famous weightlifter in the 1950s and 1960s. He broke world records on 10 occasions from 1956 to 1964, and was the first Chinese athlete to break world records. The International Olympic Committee awarded him a silver Olympic Order in recognition of his life-long dedication to the popularization of the Olympic Movement in China. He was the first Chinese athlete to ever receive this honor.
