Chinese badminton player Cai Yun (蔡赟), also known as Lance, was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province on Jan 19, 1980. Cai and his partner Fu Haifeng won the men's doubles title at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The right-handed Cai began his badminton training in 1989 when he was still a junior student. Cai's physical attributes, especially his strength and height, and his skillful game have guided him to numerous titles. He began his potent partnership with Fu Haifeng in 2002.
