Pulse feeling in China is based on centuries of clinical experi­ence. A chapter in Shi Ji (Records of the Historian) written in 104-91 B.C. tells how the celebrated physician Bian Que, who lived in the 5th century B.C., employed especially the diagnostic method of pulse feeling.
