Lu Xun

1936: Lu Xun, the most famous Chinese writer of the 20th century, passed away.

1949: Following the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Chinese Central People's Government Committee held its third meeting to discuss appointments to the Government Administration Council, the People's Revolutionary Military Commission, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Central People's Government.

1950: Six armies of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army, a total of 18 divisions in all, crossed the Yalu River on the way to the front in North Korea.

1965: China and the Kingdom of Nepal exchanged mail for the first time, on the Friendship Bridge on the Sino-Nepalese border, marking the start of direct postal services between the two countries.

2001: Chinese maestro Li Delun passed away.
