Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge

1957: The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China formulated the criteria for defining rightists.

1957: Construction of the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge completed.

1990: Yu Pingbo, a modern poet and redologist, died of illness in Beijing.

2003: China's first manned spacecraft, Shenzhou V, was successfully launched into space, making China the third country in the world to have independent technology capable of launching manned spacecraft. Yang Liwei, the astronaut on board, became China's first space hero.
