Ni Zhiqin broke the men's world record for jumping.

1937: China's Young Journalists Association was founded on November 8, 1937. It was renamed All-China Journalists Association in the 1950s.

1970: China's jumper Ni Zhiqin (1.84 meters tall and 28 years old) jumped 2.29 meters at the Changsha Laborers' Stadium of Hunan, breaking the men's world record for jumping, which was previously held by Russian jumper Valery Brumel (2.28 meters).

2002: The 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China opened in Beijing.

2012: The 18th CPC National Congress begins in Beijing.
