1019: Birthday of northern Song Dynasty historian Sima Guang
1843: According to the Treaty of Nanjing, Shanghai was opened as a trade port. From then on, Sino-foreign trade gradually moved from Guangzhou to Shanghai. Shanghai became the trade center between China and foreign countries.
1957: Zheng Fengrong broke the women's high jump world record.
1989: The first MiNi supercomputer NS1000, co-developed by the Beijing Communication Corporation and computer department of Peking University (now merged into the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science of Peking University), came out.
1992: Famous Chinese writer Lu Yao died.
2001: Zhongguancun Science City was co-developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Beijing city government.
