1951: A grand signing ceremony for the Agreement Between the Central People's Government and the Local Government of Tibet on Measures for the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet (also known as the 17-Article Agreement) was held in Beijing.

1990: China won the women's title at the first Table Tennis World Team Cup in Japan.
