1979: The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection was established.
1992: China established diplomatic ties with Tajikistan and Ukraine.
1999: The Rainbow Bridge of Qijiang Country, Chongqing, suddenly collapsed, killing 40 people and injuring 14.
