1963: Cheng Zhongwei, a surgeon at Shanghai No. 6 People's Hospital, and his colleagues successfully reattached the severed right hand of a 27-year-old factory worker. Half year later, the reattached limb resumed its functions. This was the first success of reattaching severed limbs in China.
1977: The Yellow River Bridge in Luoyang was completed and open to traffic.
