All-China Students' Federation

All-China Students' Federation is the combined organization of the students' union of national institutions of higher learning, postgraduate students' union and the union of secondary schools.

The Federation takes the following as its tasks: promoting the moral, intellectual and physical development of students by implementing the Party's policy on education; assisting the students to make progress and ensure their sound development by carrying out education in patriotism and communism; serving as a bridge linking the Party and the government with students and protecting the interests of the state and people and the just rights and interests of students; conducting recreational activities to help build up the health of students; working for the unity of students of various nationalities and strengthening ties between the students of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, so as to promote national unity and unification of the motherland; developing friendship with the world's students and student organizations, and supporting the students and people in other countries in their just struggles.

The highest leading organ of the All-China Students' Federation is its National Congress. A National Committee is elected by the National Congress and granted with the power to make decisions on major issues within the power of the All-China Students' Federation. The National Committee has an elected Presidium with the posts of Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons held by deputies from member organizations as elected by the National Congress. Choices of the Secretary-General and Deputy Secretaries-General are made by the Presidium to form the Secretariat, which attends to the day-to-day work of the Federation.
