Qin Yizhi
Qin Yizhi (秦宜智) was elected first secretary of the Secretariat of the 17thCentral Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, during the second meeting of the committee's first plenum, on June 20, 2013.
Qin was born in December 1965 in Xinxiang, Henan Province. In September 1983, he enrolled at Tsinghua University, where he studied for a double major in nuclear engineering, and ideological and political education. In January 1985, he became a member of the Communist Party of China.
From July 1988 to December 1989, he was a technician at the power plant of the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd, Sichuan Province.
From December 1989 to June 1993, he was vice chief of the boiler workshop, vice chief of the technical section, and assistant director of the thermal-power plant of the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd, Sichuan Province.
From June 1993 to February 1995, he was vice director of the thermal-power Plant of the PISGCL, Sichuan Province. From September 1991 to April 1994, he studied at Chongqing University for a master's degree in thermal engineering.
From February 1995 to April 1998, he was vice director of the Dispatcher's Office, vice director of the Sales Department, acting director of the Sales Department, and vice director of the Sales Department of the Vanadium Steel Co., under the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd.
From April 1998 to October 1999, he was vice chief economist and director of the Sales Department, director of the Sales Department of the Vanadium Steel Co., vice general manager of the New Vanadium Steel Co., and manager of the Sales Department, under the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd.
From October 1999 to January 2000, he was vice chief economist of the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd and vice general director of the New Vanadium Steel Co.
From January 2000 to April 2000, he was vice chief economist of the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. and general manager of the Chengdu Seamless Steel Tubing Co.
From April 2000 to December 2001, he was general manager of the Chengdu Seamless Steel Tubing Co., under the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd.
From December 2001 to March 2002, he was vice secretary of the Panzhihua Municipal Party Committee, vice mayor of Panzhihua, and acting mayor of Panzhihua, Sichuan Province.
From March 2002 to January 2004, he was vice secretary of the Panzhihua Municipal Party Committee, and mayor of Panzhihua, Sichuan Province.
From January 2004 to February 2004, he was secretary of the Nejiang Municipal Party Committee, Sichuan Province.
From February 2004 to June 2005, he was secretary of the Nejiang Municipal Party Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Neijiang Municipal People's Congress, Sichuan Province.
From June 2005 to July 2006, he was assistant to the president of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
From July 2006 to September 2006, he was vice president of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
From September 2006 to November 2011, he was vice president of the Tibet Autonomous Region and secretary of the Lhasa Municipal Party Committee.
Since November 2011, he was member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Tibet Autonomous Regional Committee, and executive vice president of the region.
In March 2013, he served as first secretary of the Secretariat of the 17th Central Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China.
