Green China Foundation

Green China Foundation was registered at the Ministry of Civil Affairs as a national non-profit and non-governmental organization, an independent corporate body on November 2, 1991, at the approval of the People's Bank of China. It is devoted to supporting and developing afforestation in China.

Its purposes and tasks are:

1. Protect and develop resources of forest and grassland, etc., increase green vegetation, speed up land afforestation, explore fund sources, and satisfy the desires of different groups of people and organization to provide donations for afforestation.

2. Raise and utilize funds to expand green land, plant trees and protect mountains and rivers, and contribute to the development of a favorable environment and a global ecological balance.

3. Strengthen contact with institutions and organizations at home and abroad in relation with preservation and afforestation of land; participate in relevant international cooperation and exchange activities, draw on useful experiences from other countries to facilitate China’s afforestation undertakings.

4. Use various forms to publicize the importance and urgency of afforestation of China, and make great efforts to enhance people’s consciousness on afforestation, environment, and the importance of donating to afforestation funds.

CGF planted 120 million trees in 2007 and hope that with the help of Tree Birds can plant more that 150 million trees in 2008.
