The design of the Swiss Pavilion aims to convey the message that cities are linked to nature and people should be able to travel from cities to nature easily.
The pavilion, veiled by a curtain of woven aluminum, also reflects the traditional Chinese philosophical concept of yin and yang, the two opposing principles in nature.
Popular attractions of the pavilion include a 10-meter-high projection screen showing IMAX film "The Alps" and a chairlift which could take visitors from the ground floor to the pavilion roof where a simulation of Swiss scenery was located.
