Built in 1574, Dongzhulin Monastery (http://www.eng.yn.gov.cn/yunnanEnglish/145805154627616768/20050623/378795.html) is located 105 km northwest the county seat of Zhongdian. It is the largest of the three major Gelug monasteries in Deqin County. Housed in the monastery are a large amount of precious cultural relics, such as Buddha statues and tangka paintings. Now it has over 300 lamas.
