Phoenix Mountain (“Fenghuang” in Chinese) is a noted tourist attraction 50 km northwest of Dandong in Liaoning Province. Covering an area of 24 sq. km, it is an extension of the Changbai Mountain, with the highest peak at 836.4 m above sea level. Called “Wugu Montain” or “Wushan Mountain” in ancient times, it acquired its current name in the Tang Dynasty. The mountain is noted for its precipices, fountains and caves, as well as lush green vegetation.
