Qizi (Chess Piece) Bay is 55 km from the Changjiang county seat on the west side of the island. It is an ideal resort for sun baths with its clear water and fine, soft sand. Its curving beach is scattered with smooth, shining pebbles in red, blue, green, yellow, white, purple, and grey colors that look like chess pieces, hence the name of the bay.
