Upon hearing that China had regained its seat in the UN, Chinese Foreign Minister Qiao Guanhua couldn't contain his excitement.

The passage of Resolution 2758 at the 26th Session of the United Nations General Assembly on October 25, 1971 restored the People's Republic of China's lawful rights to the UN.
