A pawnshop which had disappeared for more than 30 years in the Chinese mainland reemerged on the Xiyu Street of Chengdu on October 13, 1987. The so-called Chengdu Huamao Pawnshop engaged in the pawning and auction of personal movable and immovable assets as well as overstocked goods, idle equipment and excess raw materials from various businesses.
