At about 3 pm on September 30, 1995, a Sichuan Airlines TY-154 plane on its mission from Jinan to Guangzhou with 57 passengers and 11 crew members was hijacked. The plane eventually landed safely at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. At 9:37 pm of the same day, hijackers Yang Mingde, Han Fengying and their son Yang Yang were detained by the Taipei police and the 54 passengers and 11 crew members were safely flown back to Guangzhou.
