Dongjiaominxiang Catholic Church, also known as St. Michael’s Church, was built in 1901 in the 27th Year of Emperor Guangxu’ rule. During the late years of the Qing Dynasty, Dongjiaominxiang was a zone specially for foreigners and almost all foreign embassies located here. St. Michael’s Church was specially built for foreigners residing there. In a typically Gothic style, it has three main peaked spires and several spire ornaments beautifully complimenting each other.
