Shanghai University (上海大学) was established on March 18, 1922. The university had a Department of Social Sciences, Department of Chinese Literature, Department of Arts and Department of English Literature. It also had a Middle School Department and a class of Russian Language.
The university also held free talks every month to discuss politics.
