On September 19, 1997, the Chinese rally team 555, composed of both veteran and new drivers, attended the World Rally Championship (WRC) held in Indonesia. This was the first time China sent drivers to take part in the WRC. The two couples of Chinese drivers were: veteran driver Xian Tongchun and new driver Li Jia; veteran driver Chen Xuezhong and new driver Zhouyong.
