Located in [[Shexian County]], the archway was built to commemorate Minister [[Xu Guo]] of the [[Ming Dynasty]], who was sent on a diplomatic mission to Korea in 1567, and was praised highly by the Korean royal court owning to his refusal of gifts, since such behavior was regarded as honest and upright.

Standing on an imitated wooden structure, the archway showcases Ming (1368-1644) architecture. It actually comprises two archways, three smaller archways and five layers of roofs. All of the archways have an overhanging gable roof decorated with beast-shaped ornaments. They were built using solid black stones measuring 50 by 50 cm each and weighing about four to five tons.

A number of inscribed stone tablets were erected at the site. They were written by the great Ming calligrapher [[Dong Qichang]].
