Wang joined the CPC in 1928 and was elected a member of the three-person directing group after the [[Zunyi Meeting]]. After the founding of the [[People's Republic of China]] in [[1949]], Wang was appointed China's first ambassador to the Soviet Union.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He made great contributions to the Party, the military and the diplomatic cause.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Wang died on January 25, 1974, in [[Beijing]].&lt;br /&gt;
