He won three consecutive silver medals in the [http://www.china.org.cn/english/features/olympics/99913.htm Athens Olympics], [http://www.china.org.cn/olympic/node_1114380.htm Beijing Olympics] and [http://www.china.org.cn/sports/2012londonolympics/node_7154906.htm London Olympic Games]. He is also a member of the Chinese team that won the men's team title in the Beijing Olympics and London Olympic Games.

Wang announced retirement on Dec. 22,2014.

Born in Changchun, Jilin Province on Dec. 1, 1983, Wang began to play ping-pong in 1990. He joined the Chinese table tennis team's second team in 1998 and gained a place on the first team in 2000. As a right-handed pen-hold gripper, Wang's performance is characterized by fast movement and sound attack.
