&lt;br /&gt;
Tian is a right-handed player whose greatest successes have come in doubles matches. She started playing badminton aged 7 and entered the Hunan Sports School aged 12. She joined the National Badminton Team's second team in 2004 and gained a place on the first team in 2006. Tian's assertiveness and aggression on the badminton court are in contrast to her quiet off-court persona. &lt;br /&gt;
