The system and trains were built to the Transrapid standard of Germany. Construction commenced in March 2001, and public services began on 11 Ocober 2003. <br />

The 30-km journey takes about 8 minutes. The maximum operation speed is set at 300 kmh from 7:00 to 8:30 and from 17:30 to 21:00 in response to the government's call for resource saving. The maximum speed between 8:30 to 17:30 is 430 kmh for passengers' experience.<br />
