1950-: Council member, director, and honorary advisor of Chinese Education Association of Macao; president of several Macao sports societies including basketball, volley-ball, table tennis, swimming and Chinese chess; board chairman of EastAsia University of Macao and six primary and secondary schools; director, vice-chairman of board of five companies in China's interior regions; honorary presidents of several schools including Jinan University and Guangzhou University in Guangdong Province, Nanjing University, and Nanhai High School; Standing Committee member of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Standing Committee member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); Member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC); vice-chairman of the Committee for Drafting of the Basic Law for the Macao Special Administrative Region; member of the Macao Legislative Council; and president of the Macao Chinese Chamber of Commerce.&lt;br /&gt;

1993-: Vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.&lt;br /&gt;
