New page

On September 30, 1995, the [[East China Architectural Design and Research Institute]], which had successfully designed the [[Oriental Pearl TV Tower]], [[Shanghai Center]], [[Shanghai Grand Theater]] and [[Oriental Concert Hall]], won the bid for the Jakarta Tower of Indonesia. This is the first time a company in China won a bid to design a huge international building.

As a symbolic building of Jakarta, the Jakarta Tower is 500 meters in height. Six world-famous architectural design businesses from China, the United States, Japan, Canada and Indonesia participated in the bidding for the project.
