Born in [[1936]], Xiong spent a lonely and gloomy childhood. He moved to Taiwan from [[Hong Kong]] at the age of 14 to attend school. His parents divorced when he was 18, and he had to take part-time jobs to finish his studies in the Foreign Language Department of Tamkang University in [[Taiwan]]. After Xiong graduated, he found a job with the United States Army in Taipei and began his literary career.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
His best-known works include the ''[[Legendary Twins]]'', the ''[[Lu Xiaofeng Series]]'' and the ''[[Chu Liuxiang Series]]''.&lt;br /&gt;
