New page

Fengjian Village is a village in Xingtan Town, Shunde, of Guangdong Province. The village has a long history and historic sites of watery regions spread all over the village. It has three stone arch bridges, namely Juji Bridge and Mingyuan Bridge, built in the Song Dynasty, and Jin'ao Bridge, built with permission from Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty. Ancient temples, shrines and houses are numerous amid inland rivers and streams. Liu Ancestral Hall, Liang Ancestral Hall and Li Ancestral Hall all have large-scale sizes and great influence, and they are famous for their delicate building structure and the consummate skill in their carvings
.
Most worth visiting: Juji Bridge, Mingyuan Bridge, Jin'ao Bridge, Li Ancestral Hall
Admission: Free
How to get there: Take a bus to Daliang station of Shunde City at Guangdong station or Fangcun station, change to the No. 281 bus to get off at Xintan Hotel, and then take a motorcycle.
Tips: 1. No hotel for lodging, but you may stay in downtown Dongguan or Chashan Town;
2. Small boat is available for a river tour, usually 30 yuan after bargaining, but half in non-holidays;
3. Vegetarian food offered by the Buddhist Nunnery for free. Avoid wasting and clear the table after dinner;
4. There are special local products of Shunde sold in the small shop right at the entrance to the village.
