&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;'''Feng Youlan''' (Chinese: 冯友兰), also known as [[Feng Zhisheng]], was born in 1895 in [[Tanghe]], [[Henan]] province. He graduated from the department of philosophy at [[Peking University]] in 1918 and went to study in America two years later. After receiving his doctor's degree in philosophy at Columbia University in 1923, Feng returned to China and taught at [[Zhongzhou University]]. He then later worked at [[Guangzhou University]] and [[Yanjing University]] and served as the dean of the philosophy department and literature school of [[Tsinghua University]]. From 1947 to 1948, Feng was invited to the University of Hawaii as a visiting professor. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Feng served as the chairman of the Commission of School Affairs of Tsinghua University and also taught philosophy at Peking University. &lt;br /&gt;

Feng died on Nov. 26, 1990, in [[Beijing]].&lt;br /&gt;

Feng is mostly known for his &amp;quot;History of Chinese Philosophy.&amp;quot; The two-volume book written in the early 1930s made Feng the founder of China's philosophical history research. His other works include &amp;quot;Collected Papers on History of Chinese Philosophy&amp;quot; and &amp;quot;Draft of History of Chinese Philosophy.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;
