'''Chen Qiang''' ('''陈强'''), famous actor and one of the pioneers of modern China's film industry, died at the Beijing Anzhen Hospital on June 26, 2012 at the age of 94.

Born in 1918 in Ningjin, [[Hebei Province]], Chen spent his childhood in Taiyuan, [[Shanxi Province]]. He became an actor of the Beijing Film Studio in 1953.

Chen starred in a total of 43 films, the best-known of which are "The White-Haired Girl" and "The Red Detachment of Women."

He had been awarded the very first Golden Rooster and the Hundred Flowers Award and later went on to become one of the top 22 film stars in modern China.

Chen Qiang's most representative works are "He Beauty in the Picture," "The Red Detachment of Women," "What a Family," "Erzi Runs an Inn" and "Father and Son's Car."

Over the past six months, Chen Peisi, Chen Qiang's son, took care of his elderly father until the legendary actor passed away late Tuesday evening.
