New page

Lying in Deqin County between the [[Jinsha River]] and [[Lancang River]], the highest peak of '''Baimang Snow Mountain''' (http://www.ljtour.com/jqjd/bmxs.htm) is 5,429.6 m above sea level, covered with snow all year round. Due to 3,380 m of difference in elevation, there are more than 10 distinct vegetation belts from tropical to north frigid zone within a 40-km horizontal distance. Most part of the forest is in a primitive and closed state, which is home to hundreds species of rare plants and animals. Currently, the Baimang Snow Mountain Nature Reserve has been established to protect the rare black snub-nosed monkeys, and natural views of the Hengduan Mountain Range.
